Production Supervisor - Now Hiring



Description



To develop and maintain an energized environment where employees work together to safely produce quality products that meet our customers' requirements and maximize company growth and earnings. Works within a Unionized organizational structure and must fully understand and comply with all applicable contractual labor management agreements.



The position reports to:
Operations Manager



Responsibilities



  1. Live the Safety stand, adhere to the safety responsibilities.



Metrics


  • Implement a personal safety action plan, review with leader and consistently display safe work habits.
  • Ensure direct reports are fully engaged around proactive safety responsibilities (BBS, Wearing proper PPE, Training, Job Planning, Near Miss reporting, and consistent safe work actions)


  1. Coach and Develop Primary Workforce to reach their full potential



Metrics


  • Perform regular performance review meetings with employees one-on-one to ensure they have all the resources to perform their jobs. Understand direct reports' career goals, removing any obstacles to ensure employees have impactful and meaningful work to perform each day that provides enrichment and fulfillment.
  • Perform and ensure proper documentation of cross training of all employees as necessary to maintain a flexible work environment capable of meeting varied demands. Ensure technical competence on production line.


  1. Provide excellent communications and planning



Metrics


  • Facilitate development and implementation of data collection and process control in order to enhance manufacturing processes. Support and participate in TPM teams to get floor level generated improvements.
  • Communicate and support company/division/plant objectives and goals.
  • Perform value-added daily huddles
  • Actively participate in plant-wide meetings
  • Use electronic systems for all employees on plant communications, and ensure employees regularly utilize company-provided systems to maintain current on plant/division/company information disseminated through that resource.
  • Personally lead, engage in and encourage direct reports to engage in voice of the employee continuous improvement activities.


  1. Consistently deliver to target and stretch goals of performance



Metrics


  • Review all plant/division/company goals with team and ensure each understands the activity required to deliver to these expectations. Make sure each person understands how their daily work actions tie in to the achievement of these goals.
  • Track and review mission critical manufacturing metrics and ensure proactive steps to achieve targeted/stretch OE, OEE, CE, SEC's, and Pack Rate.



Job Requirements




Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree preferably Business or Engineering degree - preferred
  • 3
    years in Industrial setting with coaching and development responsibilities


Knowledge and Abilities:


  • Computer literacy - MRP systems (i.e. SAP, POP) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point)
  • Must be able to work rotating 12-hour shifts
  • Strong leadership competencies
  • Continuous Improvement focus (Previous Kaizen experience, Green Belt or Black Belt Certification a +)
